We invite you to participate in a virtual workshop on Thursday, March 27 from 1:00-2:00PM. The discussion will inform the final content lineup for LARC’s 2025 Extreme Heat Social Media Campaign
 
We want to hear your thoughts on this year’s proposed revisions and get our creative minds flowing. If you like time to gather your thoughts, we will be discussing messaging ideas for the following key topics:

  • Children and Hot Car Deaths

  • Teens, Teen Athletes, and Heat Stroke

  • Heat-Resilient Gardens/Yards and role of infrastructure in health

  • Sun PPE

  • Accessing Cooling Center resources

In this workshop, researchers from the University of California, Irvine presented an update on their project that simulates three county-wide flood risk adaptation strategies: (a) raising levees, (b) widening channels, and (c) capturing additional stormwater with more green infrastructure and parks.
