KNOW TOMORROW is a student led campaign to promote the facts on climate change, and to amplify the voices of Millennials speaking out on the defining issue of our lifetime. KNOW TOMORROW will launch as a social media campaign and will create a National Day of Action on college campuses across the country on October 2, 2015.

AltCar Expo

When AltCar was launched in 2006, most of the vehicles were conversions, neighborhood electric vehicles and prototypes. Ten years later there are a multitude of across the board alternative technology vehicles for fleets and consumers. The infrastructure has grown exponentially. Over the years at AltCar, we have featured the West Coast Debut of the Chevy Volt, the first worldwide glimpse of the Honda Plug In Accord, the National kick off of the Nissan Leaf Tour, the National Reveal of the Ford CNG 150 and many other historical presentations.

Each year the California Chapter organizes a statewide conference allowing members to receive educational opportunities and to network. These popular conferences attract planning professionals from all over California, the United States and throughout the world.

EPA Webcast #1: Communicating the Connection between Climate Change and Heat Health

This summer, EPA’s Local Climate and Energy Program will be hosting a two-part webcast series on the connections among climate change, the heat island effect, and public health. As temperatures rise due to climate change, the heat island effect (which causes built-up areas to be hotter than surrounding areas) is exacerbated, leading to increases in heat-related illnesses, deaths, and other health problems. This series will address both the short-term response needs that local governments face during heat waves and longer-term strategies for reducing the heat island effect in the future
