Navigating The Growth Reality

Southern California was defined by its fast growth as a magnet for migrants. However, population growth has slowed in the past decade, consistent with national and global trends. Join SCAG’s 2024 Southern California Demographic Workshop to discuss how changing population growth affects regional planning—from accommodating growth to improving quality of life and growing the economy.

The event will be held on Sept. 24 in person at the SCAG Main Office in Downtown Los Angeles and online. The program will feature a keynote address and a series of roundtable discussions with experts. AICP credits will be available for in-person attendees. Elected officials and city managers of SCAG’s member jurisdictions may attend in person for free.
