California Methane Symposium

At this symposium, climate change and methane experts from leading academic and research institutions will discuss the science behind methane as a major climate change agent and announce newly funded research. Scientists and government representatives will detail what is both known and unknown about concentrations and sources of methane in California, such as landfill emissions, oil extraction and refinement and aging gas transmission infrastructure. Representatives from local and state agencies, utilities and leading organizations will describe the steps being taken to limit methane pollution and strategies for increasing their benefits.
