CCEDA: 2024 Annual Policy and Funding Conference

The 2024 CCEDA Policy Conference has a centered focus on increasing equity, and access to resources, in low-income communities and communities of color. The theme, Access, and Equity for a New California: Empowering Low-Income Communities of Color, encourages attendees to consider how elected representatives, financial institutions, and CED organizations can use the tools and infrastructure of CED to accomplish this urgent goal. CDCs, CDFIs, and CAAs have served as effective tools to address the needs of low-income communities, especially those whose leadership reflects the communities they serve. As the state pushes forward in addressing climate change, the housing crisis, transportation expansion, etc., these efforts must prioritize the communities most affected by these issues; low-income communities of color. We cannot afford to allow these communities to be left behind as they have in the past. It is up to community-based organizations, funders, financial institutions, and elected officials to work together and ensure that low-income communities of color are primary beneficiaries of the state’s efforts.
