City of Manhattan Beach Planning Commission Meeting

The Planning Commission will review and discuss updates to the City’s Local Coastal Plan (LCP) with a Coastal Hazards and Sea Level Rise Chapter. In March 2019, the City of Manhattan Beach received grant funding from the California Coastal Commission to conduct a Sea Level Rise Vulnerability Assessment, develop a Sea Level Rise Adaptation Plan, and update the City's LCP. In order to protect our coastline and infrastructure such as the public Pier Historic Landmark, Roundhouse Aquarium, Marvin Braude Bike Path, the Strand pedestrian walkway, and other resources. The City of Manhattan Beach is updating the LCP to better plan for climate change and coastal hazards in the Coastal Zone.
