In a sustainable Los Angeles, nature is thoughtfully interwoven throughout the urban fabric so that plants, animals and residents harmoniously co-exist and contribute to the overall wellbeing and resilience of the region. To achieve this, we must protect and restore critical habitat and native biodiversity; reduce ecosystem threats like wildfire and invasive species; and ensure every Angeleno has equitable access to nature and its associated health benefits such as clean air, clean water and shade.
On July 14, you are invited to the unveiling of UCLA’s Sustainable LA Grand Challenge report card on ecosystem health in L.A. County — the region’s most comprehensive evaluation of ecosystem health and proposed strategies and actions to move us toward a more sustainable Los Angeles.
